Task 3: Be able to plan and structure interviews for identified purposes. (Paper interview)

The purpose of this interview is to inform and educate people about single parents in the UK.   This interview is going to be used in a magazine.

Script :
1) how many children do you have and how old are they?
2) how did you come about being a single parent?
3) do you or your children still have contact with their mother?
4) how did the divorce affect your relationship with your children?
5) what are some of the hardships you've faced being a single parent?
6) how did you feel when you realised you were on your own?
7) how did you cope with the financial burden of being a single parent?
8) what advice would you give to other single parents?

Structure

The questions that I have asked in this interview are mostly open and all linked to the subject of being a single parent. The reason for the way these questions are structured in this way is because I wanted to get specific information from the interviewee on the  background of how he became a single parent and how ha has coped . Also the reason the questions in this interview are mostly open, is so that the answers given by the interviewee are more in depth  rather than a one sentence answer.

Interview Planning/Preparation

This interview was set up to be used in a magazine therefor weeks in advance before the actual interview took place the interviewee gave permission and was fully aware of the types of questions he was going to be asked before the interview started.
